"We cannot always change what happens in our lives, but we can, in and through the power God gives us, tap from universal wisdom and change our experience of any event."

Choosing the Path to Greatness

PDF Print E-mail

Many people in today’s society feel fragmented and out of balance. Despite our unprecedented wealth, despite the fact many books have been written about how to understand ourselves, there is an overwhelming sense of disconnection. The pace of our lives has been accelerated by the use of cell phones and computers, yet we are still not caught up.

I believe that this sense of uneasiness comes from a feeling of separation from our God, Creator, Source, Spirit, Higher Connection, the Universal Life Force, Divine Mind — whatever name you choose, it really does not matter. Much of the longing or “dis-ease” people find themselves experiencing, can be as simple as feeling uncomfortable and a bit disconnected, or as complicated as severe bouts of depression and anxiety. Dan Welch, who is a wise friend, stated it this way: “We feel out of sorts or out of Source.” When we forget our spiritual nature, we lose our capacity for a joyful life. Perceiving ourselves separate from our Source, we feel rejected, unworthy and abandoned. We experience separation when we forget our Divine nature and life’s mission. Yet, forgetting does not change the fact of our identity. God hasn’t left us.

The purpose of this workbook is to provide an avenue to wholeness, stepping onto the path of greatness. Wholeness is both our origin and our destiny. We chose to participate in the school room of earth to remember our Divine origins. When we remember who we are, fear evaporates and we choose love. The choice for love transforms us. Our walls collapse.

The good news is that we don’t need to rely on a guru or outside forces to experience our wholeness. The path for greatness is within us. To step on this path, it is absolutely essential to commit to a daily practice of accessing this inner connection. We can quiet our minds just by focusing on our breathing, allowing ourselves to move into our essence, our spiritual core. It is in this space that we can make that God-connection. It is in this space that we can come home to ourselves.

This workbook offers some techniques to learn to quiet your mind and access your own inner wisdom, getting in touch with your essence. It assists in selfreflection and self-expression. Step-by-step you can alter your present reality, moving into your greatness that was there all along!

There may be some new concepts in this workbook. You may want to consider the possibility of some of these new ideas. But, if you find yourself resistant to a particular exercise, that’s perfectly OKAY. If it just doesn’t fit for you, let it go for now and continue working through the other activities which make you feel more comfortable. If you become interested in learning some more information about these concepts, additional reading is listed for you. Know that it is not necessary to complete all of the exercises. Trust yourself to know which exercises will be most beneficial for you. Begin wherever you feel drawn.

Using this workbook you will embark on the path to greatness and discover:

  • We are responsible for our present situation by our past choices.
  • We can change our mind about how we see the world.
  • We can learn to see the perfection in others and ourselves.
  • We can release the pain of the past. We can heal the pain.
  • We can let go of the blame, forgiving ourselves and others.
    Forgiveness heals.
  • We can accept the power of love within ourselves. Love is our essence.
  • We can create the life we want and deserve because we are actually the cocreators of our experiences. We write a script and author the roles.

I would encourage you to gather a community of people who are willing to do this self-reflection together. While it is good to do these exercises alone, it is vital to have a partner or group with whom you can connect on this journey. The partner or group can serve as a “check and balance” on your assumptions. Groups can serve as wonderful emotional supports. Groups keep us focused and help us to maintain our motivation to move forward. Sharing stories of personal growth and “AHA’S” motivate us to persevere. I want this book to be FUN -- not a heavy, dreaded process. Most of us are not going to change our life in an instant. Our transformation is based on our small daily changes. We need to be patient with ourselves as we give ourselves permission to take baby-steps.

I wish you many blessings as you continue your joyful journey. I am most honored that you have chosen this workbook to be a part of your personal growth. Trust that you will have unlimited guidance as you do these exercises. Feel, see or just imagine yourself encircled by Angelic Helpers as you progress through this book. Allow yourself to feel that love and support. Breathe it in.

Blessings!
